How can I possibly be a mother, wife, raise a child with Autism and work? 2019 was a great and challenging year! I had to learn to find balance between owning two businesses (Joy Boutique and Cover N Style), care for my son whom has autism, attempt to be the wife and mother I want to be, and try to keep myself happy and healthy through the midst of all the busyness.

Thanks to the author Lysa Terkeurst and her book “The Best Yes,” she taught me to give my “best yes’s” during 2019. She guided me to be efficient with my work time, choose what is right and purposeful for my family and myself, which resulted in a healthier version of me! Everyday I am faced with endless demands, but because of this book I can now say I have learned to escape the guilt of saying no without disappointing others and myself. The Best Yes has counseled me to be a better mother, wife, friend, and still have a work life!

During 2019, aside from choosing what is best for my family and my businesses, I learned to MAKE time for myself! Time that I carved out for myself to create a healthier version of me and it truly has been magical. It has been a breath of fresh air for my soul! Read on to learn some of my 2019 Best Yes’s I made for myself!
Bible Study – Diving into HIS word and being surrounded by inspiring and encouraging sisters in Christ has been AWESOME! Period.
Exercising – I started to workout and have not regretted a single one! I always walk away feeling energized and refreshed!
Time With Friends – I have learned to carve out time for my friends. It is always a time of happiness and lots of laughter!
Organization And Scheduling – I started writing out monthly menus and schedules for my son, whom has autism, to help with his anxiety. This method has not only diminished my sons anxiety, but mine as well! It feels really good to be ahead of the game!
Reading – I have rediscovered that taking time and getting lost into story is the best feeling ever! All of my to-do’s fade away as I curl up enjoying my book.
My best yes’s truly have added peace to my life. Throughout all the busyness, I have found a way to making wiser choices which add calmness and purpose. I highly recommend you take the time to read this book and challenge yourself to find your best yes’s.
